Mount Cole State Forest
Located one hours drive west of Ballarat, just off the Western Highway, Mount Cole State Forest is located 25 kilometres from the township of Beaufort and marks the gateway to the Pyrenees Wine District and the Grampians.

This photo was taken on Mount Lonarch among the Hancock Pine Plantation, looking toward Mount Cole. The area is known for it's Sambar Deer population. I managed to snap one in this photo, if you look closely you can see it crossing the unsealed road on the right (Click on the image for a larger view),
(Below) Tree Ferns - Beeripmo Walk - Mount Cole State Forest
The following photos were all taken along part of the Beeripmo Walk. This area is about half way between two camp sites, Richards and Ditchfields. You can either hike up from Richards, or hike down from Ditchfields. I've included myself in these photos to provide a sense of scale, talk about 'Land of the Lost'.
